Bangladesh’s aviation and tourism sectors have strong potential to drive growth, jobs, and foreign exchange, but untapped opportunities remain as international tourism earnings are low. Airports handled 17.4 million passengers last year, showing high demand, yet more can be achieved. To enhance the sector, Bangladesh should expand airports, improve immigration efficiency, and develop seamless ground transport with competitive international routes. Encouraging private investment in airlines, hotels, and destination services will raise quality quickly. Simplified e-visas, strong governance, skills development, and global branding are essential. With strategic focus, Bangladesh can capture a larger share of the global tourism market.
