ICAO APAC Regional Training Symposium 2025
Prasanta Kumar Chakraborty, Director of Civil Aviation Academy of Bangladesh, to represent the nation at prestigious ICAO event
Dhaka, July 17, 2025 – Bangladesh continues to make significant strides in global aviation as Prasanta Kumar Chakraborty, Director of the Civil Aviation Academy of Bangladesh (CAAB), has been honored as a featured speaker at the ICAO APAC Regional Training Symposium 2025, held from July 16 to 17 at Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre, Singapore.
The symposium, organized by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) in partnership with the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS), is themed “Enhancing Training Cooperation: Building Human Capital for the Sustainable Development of Civil Aviation.” It brings together key aviation stakeholders across the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region to discuss emerging trends, foster collaboration, and support the development of customized training programs.
Mr. Chakraborty, with nearly three decades of aviation experience, began his career in 1996 as an Aviation Safety Inspector under CAAB. He holds a Graduate Diploma in Aviation Management from the National University of Singapore (NUS) and has received extensive training in aviation safety, regulatory oversight, audit techniques, and training course development. He is also a certified ICAO Instructor and has played a key role in elevating Bangladesh’s Civil Aviation Academy to Gold membership under ICAO’s TRAINAIR PLUS Programme (TPP) within three years.
Over the years, Mr. Chakraborty has contributed significantly to the implementation of ICAO Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs), state safety oversight, and training management. He has represented Bangladesh in over a hundred Air Service Agreement (ASA) negotiations and participated in numerous high-level ICAO meetings and workshops.
His participation in this international forum marks a proud moment for Bangladesh, reflecting the country’s growing influence in the global aviation training landscape and its commitment to developing a skilled aviation workforce for the future.
