Types of Aircraft Climb
Best Angle Climb (Vx)
• Purpose: Reaches the highest altitude in the shortest horizontal distance.
• When to Use: When obstacles (trees, buildings, mountains) are ahead.
Best Rate Climb (Vy)
• Purpose: Gains the most altitude in the shortest time.
• When to Use: When clearing obstacles isn’t an issue but reaching altitude quickly is important.
Normal or Cruise Climb
• Purpose: Provides better forward visibility and engine cooling.
• When to Use: During regular flight to improve efficiency and comfort.
Each climb type is used depending on terrain, aircraft performance, and flight conditions!
