Training aligned with International Civil Aviation Organization standards to strengthen airport fire safety and emergency response.
The Civil Aviation Academy on Wednesday held the closing ceremony and certificate distribution for its 90-day Crash Fire and Rescue (CFR) Basic Course on aviation fire fighting. The course, which began on October 6, 2025, concluded on February 17, 2026. The training aimed to enhance fire safety measures at airports across the country and develop skilled personnel capable of responding to potential aircraft emergencies.
Director of the Civil Aviation Academy, Prashanta Kumar Chakraborty, attended the ceremony as chief guest and emphasized the importance of such specialized training in ensuring overall aviation safety and effective accident response. He noted that the true success of the program would be realized through the effective implementation of fire safety systems at all airports nationwide. Director (Fire) ASM Khaled also highlighted that ICAO-compliant training would play a key role in airport operations and emergency planning.
Five fire service personnel from the Fire Department of the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh participated in the course. Over the past five months, trainees engaged in both theoretical and practical modules, including fire drills, fire tender operations, and rescue missions. The program is part of CAAB’s ongoing efforts to strengthen aviation fire safety in alignment with global aviation emergency planning standards.
