ATAB Urges Action Against Rising Airfares and Ticket Hoardin
Dhaka, Jan 26, 2025: The Association of Travel Agents of Bangladesh (ATAB) urged the government to reduce airfares and curb bulk ticket hoarding, which inflates prices. ATAB President Abdus Salam Aref criticized airlines for creating Passenger Name Records (PNRs) without valid passenger details, enabling syndicates to block seats, causing shortages, and raising ticket prices by up to 50%.
