Biman Bangladesh Airlines has given in-principle approval to purchase 14 new Boeing aircraft as part of its long-term fleet expansion and modernization strategy. The decision was taken by the airline’s board, signaling a strong commitment to strengthening both long-haul and regional operations.
The proposed acquisition includes a mix of wide-body and narrow-body aircraft, reportedly comprising Boeing 787-9 and 787-10 Dreamliners along with Boeing 737-8 jets. These aircraft are expected to enhance fuel efficiency, passenger comfort, and operational reliability across Biman’s network.
Formal negotiations with Boeing regarding pricing, delivery schedules, and financing arrangements are expected to begin soon. Once finalized, the deal will play a key role in supporting Bangladesh’s growing air travel demand and expanding international connectivity.
