ICAO Highlights Need for Faster Global Adoption of Aviation Digitalization
International body urges states to modernize air traffic systems and safety oversight.
The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) has renewed its call for faster adoption of digital technologies across global aviation systems. ICAO stressed that modern data-driven tools are essential for improving safety oversight, air traffic efficiency and environmental performance.
ICAO officials noted that uneven implementation of digital air navigation and safety systems across regions continues to create inefficiencies and operational risk. The organization encouraged member states to invest in automation, cybersecurity and real-time data sharing.
According to ICAO, harmonized digital transformation is critical to supporting future air traffic growth while maintaining safety and regulatory compliance.
